Protect Your Valuable Belongings
While your property insurance does cover your personal belongings up to a specified total value, some items are so valuable that they should be listed or scheduled separately in your policy.

Watercraft
As long as you use your watercraft for private pleasure purposes only, you can protect it, its motor and its trailer against most unexpected situations. You can also extend coverage to a wide range of accessories such as anchors, life preservers, paddles, fire extinguishers and more.

Some restrictions do apply, such as the age and experience of the operator and the age of the boat. Also, in the event of a claim, a deductible will apply unless you experience a total loss on your boat, its motor or trailer.

Valuable personal belongings
Your property insurance automatically provides coverage for your personal belongings. However, if you ever have to claim for items that are particularly valuable - such as jewellery, furs, photographic equipment or collections of coins, stamps or even comic books - you may find that you do not have sufficient coverage.

That's why we strongly recommend that you protect items of value separately, insuring them as Valuable Personal Belongings. You'll be protecting them against most unexpected situations.

To make sure you don't miss any of your valuable personal belongings, photograph or videotape them and keep a record of their serial numbers and receipts.
